Pirates dun get good endings, right?

Went to watch 'Pirates' with the family today... being a public holiday and all that.. it was quite nice to be out for a bit with them.

The movie really did live up to expectations... I thought it was really good... the effects, the witty conversations... and of course, I got a shiver down my spine when I heard the 'Welcome to Singapore!" bit.... I know, cheap thrill.

But the ending... OMIGOSH... why why why did it have to end like that? You work so hard, risk your life, and that's the sort of thanks you get????

Life's an unfair bitch!

But oh well... still.. overall... a good end to a trilogy.

Btw, I heard that after the credits ran... there's this short scene where you see Orlando Bloom with a small boy... is that right? Anyone saw it?

Could that mean that part 4 might just happen???

*shivers with excited anticipation*

shit week

This week has ben terrible... just terrible... i feel terrible... i dun even know what to feel or think. i'm confused, lost, angry, sad, alone...

it's like a nightmare come to life... and i dun know how to deal with it, except to keep my mind occupied.

sigh.... i'm kinda glad the weekend is here now... i just wanna chill, stone, let my mind go blank so i dun think at all. but then again, i'm afraid.... when i'm alone at home... nothing's to stop me from thinking again.

i think i'll open a bottle of wine.

this morning, at about 4-plus, i heard some voices....

ya, i also thought they were voices in my head.

but then i realised, noooo.... it's more like from the tv or something... and then i noticed the lights from the living room area through my bedroom door.

coz i was so tired, i just thought i'll ignore it. i figured my brother was up, getting ready for school and stuff.

but the volume was just toooooo loud. i mean, i could hear word for word what was being said. i even knew it was from a harry potter movie. then i looked at my clock and saw the time - i was pissed. why the hell is my bro doing up at that hour, watching a dvd?????

so i got out of bed, opened the door and yelled at my brother for being an inconsiderate bastard who really shouldn't be watching tv at this hour, but getting sleep, so he'll be all bright and awake for school later. i shouted at the brother who's taking his o levels this year, and had failed everything subject but english for his CA.

then i slammed my bedroom door shut, really hard.

but the damage had been done. i couldn't get back to sleep. so at 5, i got up, showered, cycled to the mrt station, and took the train to office, where i spend about 1 1/2 on my computer on some work before my eyes got too sleepy, so i napped at my desk for a bit.

i was so freaking tired throughout the day lor.... plus i had this huge major presentation to give to my boss and colleague and really needed to be alert.
thank goodness the presentation worked out fine.

but ya... i'm sooooo pissed with my brother. it's just insane, what he did.

so i ignored him when he greeted me when i got home that night. call me petty... but i think what he did was just toooooo much. it's the o level year for goodness sake!

humph!

Big bad Wolf gets bitten in the butt

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6667975.stm

And this is a good one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6664107.stm

But still.... the World Bank did give in to him somewhat... I wish they hadn't

The Big Bad Wolf

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/18/washington/18worldbank.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5087%0A&em&en=58dc4851740d3497&ex=1179720000

And this one:
http://www.ifaonline.co.uk/public/showPage.html?page=447003

"Sounding more like a cast member of the Sopranos than an international leader, in testimony by one key witness Mr Wolfowitz declares: "If they fuck with me or Shaha, I have enough on them to fuck them too." "

So Wolfowitz, after investigations showed that he had been bias and essentially corrupt, refuses to admit it and resign.

It's funny how people can weight honesty on different scales. What's worse, is that the White House is still professing its support of Wolfowitz, praising him for having done a good job so far. And yet they pound on governments they view as corrupt and denounce them. But wasn't what Wolfowitz did also corrupt?

And then we wonder why Iraq is in such a sad state... why the 'war on terror' seems to have hit a brick wall. Instead of getting rid of terror, all the Bush administration seems to have done is to cultivate it!

The thing is this... if you want someone to behave in a certain way, you've got to lead by example. That's such a basic principal that everybody knows. Parents for example, cannot tell their kids not to take drugs while they snort some coke up their noses.

If the World Bank wants to really be effective, they cannot have any scandals, anything that calls their integrity into question. When the president of the World Bank is corrupt, you lose the authority to tell other countries, "shape up, or there'll be no loans for you!"

Wolfowtiz cannot keep denying any wrongdoing, or shift the blame to others. He needs to face up to the music. The whole incident just simply discredits the World Bank, and the Bush administration.

Now I'm just wondering how long it'll take before they kick him out. And if they get him to resign, I hope it's not by negotiating some deal. That guy did wrong, he should be punished, and that's that. They shouldn't even offer any compensation.

We'll see...

Sleeping pills, anyone?

I've been having trouble sleeping.... I could be just so so so tired, and yet, my mind would be so awake... and I'll just lie in bed, staring at the ceiling.

And I do so need to sleep...

Just another Pointless blog post... for me to vent...

good thing today is labour day. I just got back last night from Bangkok… I wun say I’m like super super tired… but still, it’s nice to be able to sleep in.

today was a pretty lazy day, which is how public holidays should be. I’m kinda like, adjusting to being back home… I mean, for example, I can’t have a ciggie in bed now before going to sleep, oh nooo… :P
